2. Collection and Processing of Personal Data

Log Data

When you visit our website, log data is automatically collected (e.g., IP address, browser, operating system, access time, requested page). This data is technically necessary to provide and operate our website. The legal basis is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR (legitimate interest in system security and website operation).

Contact Form

If you use our contact form, we process the information you provide (name, email, message) to handle your inquiry. The legal basis is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR (pre-contractual measures). We do not share this data with third parties.

Job Applications

If you apply via the application form on our careers page, we process the information you provide (including name, contact details, school and professional qualifications, work experience, language skills and earliest possible start date) solely to carry out the application procedure. The legal basis is Sec. 26 (1) BDSG in conjunction with Art. 88 GDPR, and for unsolicited applications additionally Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR. Access is limited to the persons involved in the procedure. If no employment relationship results, we delete your data six months after the procedure has been completed, unless you have expressly agreed to longer storage.

Form Spam Protection

To protect our forms against automated submissions we use an invisible control field (honeypot technique). No additional personal data is processed. The legal basis is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR (legitimate interest in preventing misuse).

Appointment Booking

For scheduling meetings we link to Microsoft Bookings (Microsoft Ireland Operations Limited). Your details are only transmitted to Microsoft and processed in our Microsoft 365 tenant once you follow that link and book an appointment there. The legal basis is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR.

Contract Processing

For registrations or bookings, we collect and process your data to fulfill the contract, for billing, and customer support. Data is shared only with service providers involved in contract fulfillment. The legal basis is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR.

3. Data Sharing

We disclose your personal data only when necessary for contract fulfilment, if legally required, or upon official order. Otherwise, no data is shared with third parties. Where we engage service providers that process data on our behalf – in particular our hosting provider and Microsoft for the operation of our e-mail and scheduling systems – this is done on the basis of data processing agreements pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR.

4. Analytics Tools

Google Analytics

This website uses Google Analytics 4, a web analytics service provided by Google Ireland Limited. Cookies are set and usage data is processed; IP addresses are truncated before any storage and are not retained in full. The service is loaded via the Google tag (ID G-KZS5YR38Q5).

The legal basis is your consent under Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR. Without your consent the Google tag is not loaded; you may withdraw your consent at any time with future effect. Where data is transferred to the USA, the transfer is based on the European Commission’s adequacy decision of 10 July 2023 (EU-US Data Privacy Framework).

You can opt out of data collection at any time:
Deactivate Google Analytics
Alternatively, install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

Google tag

Google Analytics is embedded via the Google tag (gtag.js). The tag only controls the analytics service and is loaded only after you have given consent. We do not use any further advertising or tracking services on this website – in particular no Google AdSense, no Google Fonts and no LinkedIn pixel. Web fonts are served exclusively from our own server; no connection to Google is established.

5. Consent Banner

When you first visit our website, a consent banner is displayed. You actively decide whether to allow cookies for analytics and tracking. Analytics cookies and the Google tag are loaded only after your active consent. Your choice is saved and can be changed at any time via the “Manage consent” button or the “Cookie settings” link in the footer.

6. Cookies

We use cookies to improve user experience for both first-time and returning visitors (e.g., language selection, login status). Necessary cookies are enabled by default. Analytics and marketing cookies require your consent. You can manage or disable cookies in your browser settings, though this may limit website functionality.

7. Data Retention

Personal data is deleted as soon as it is no longer needed for its intended purpose, unless legal retention obligations (e.g., from HGB or AO) apply. In such cases, data is blocked and securely retained until deletion is permitted.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access your stored personal data
  • Correct inaccurate data
  • Request deletion (unless legal obligations prevent it)
  • Restrict processing
  • Data portability
  • Object to processing (based on legitimate interest)
  • Withdraw your consent at any time, with future effect

You also have the right to file a complaint with the supervisory authority responsible for us:
Der Landesbeauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit Mecklenburg-Vorpommern,
Schloss Schwerin, Lennéstraße 1, 19053 Schwerin, Germany
